Cross Country
The MVC Cross Country Championship began in 1992. Many schools chose not to run their top runners in the meet due to when it was scheduled. In 1995, the Athletic Directors voted to make it mandatory that all coaches run their varsity athletes in the championship meet. 1992, 1993 & 1994 are included in the meet history for historical purposes with the recognition that not all teams ran their top athletes in the meet.
The MVC Girls Cross Country league appears to have begun in 1978. Prior to this year girls competed on the boys teams during the regular season, but would have their own state championships. In 1975 there was a MVC Girls Championship Meet, but that appears to be the only time it was run.
